Members of Service

Members of service carry responsibilities that most people will never fully understand. Every day, officers put on their uniforms knowing that the hours ahead may bring uncertainty, danger, and immense pressure—yet they continue forward with dedication and resilience. Behind that commitment lies a personal life that does not pause, a family that relies on them, and a financial structure that can be unexpectedly shaken when crisis strikes. At the MOS Relief Project, we recognize the unique challenges officers face both on and off the job, and our mission is to provide real support when those challenges become overwhelming.
For officers experiencing sudden hardship—whether from an injury, illness, administrative suspension, family tragedy, or unexpected personal crisis—the path forward can feel uncertain. The demands of the job often make it difficult to slow down or seek help, even when circumstances at home become too heavy to manage alone. Many members of service have been conditioned to push through adversity, to remain strong for others, and to keep personal struggles private. But when financial strain begins to build and stress begins to take its toll, it is essential to have a place to turn. That is why the MOS Relief Project exists: to offer support that is compassionate, understanding, and grounded in lived experience.
Every officer who reaches out to us is speaking to people who have walked the same halls, worn the same badge, and felt the same weight of responsibility. Our organization was formed by active and retired police officers who know firsthand how quickly life can shift—how a single moment or unforeseen event can disrupt income, strain relationships, and jeopardize stability. We understand that an injury can lead to reduced pay, that medical appointments can create financial gaps, and that administrative actions can temporarily halt income in ways that place a family at immediate risk. When these moments arise, members of service deserve a support system that sees them as more than their circumstances, someone who understands that hardship does not diminish their strength or their service.
The MOS Relief Project is committed to helping officers regain stability during these difficult times. We assist by providing financial relief for essential needs such as rent, mortgage payments, utilities, childcare, transportation, funeral expenses, and other critical costs that accumulate when life is interrupted. For many officers, this relief represents more than financial aid—it represents breathing room, a moment of calm during chaos, and the reassurance that they are not facing these hardships alone. Our goal is to help ease the weight on their shoulders, allowing them to focus on healing, resolving their situation, or supporting their families without the constant fear of falling further behind.
We treat every request with dignity, confidentiality, and respect. Officers who come to us are not judged by their circumstances; they are welcomed, understood, and supported by people who genuinely care. Our Board reviews each case carefully and thoughtfully, recognizing that every situation is unique and requires personalized attention. We strive to make the process as compassionate and human as possible, because we know how difficult it can be to ask for help—especially for those who have spent their lives helping others. Members of service devote themselves to protecting their communities, often under immense pressure and sacrifice.
The MOS Relief Project stands to protect them in return when life becomes overwhelming. Whether you are facing financial strain due to illness, struggling through a family emergency, or dealing with the aftermath of a crisis, we want you to know that there is a place you can turn—a place built by officers, for officers, with a commitment to providing real relief in moments of real need. You are not alone, and you never will be. MOS Relief Project is here to help you through whatever comes next.
