Who We Are

MOS Relief Project is a nonprofit organization formed by active and retired police officers who understand the unique challenges and pressures of life in law enforcement. Our founders and leadership team have personally experienced the heavy weight of financial hardship brought on by unexpected events—an on-duty injury that sidelines a paycheck, a sudden illness that demands round-the-clock care, or the devastating loss of a loved one that turns life upside down. These moments test not only emotional resilience, but also a family’s financial stability, and they often strike when people are least prepared.

We came together to create MOS Relief Project because we believe that officers who devote their lives to serving others should not be left to struggle alone when crisis arrives at their own doorstep.
The MOS Relief Project is built on the idea of solidarity within the law enforcement community. We know that behind every badge is a family, a story, and a set of responsibilities that extend far beyond a shift schedule. When hardship hits, it doesn’t wait for a convenient time or an ideal set of circumstances. It interrupts work, disrupts routines, and throws carefully balanced finances into chaos. Our organization exists to step into that disruption and provide a measure of stability, offering direct financial support where it is needed most.

By assisting with rent or mortgage payments, utilities, childcare, funeral costs, and other pressing expenses, we aim to give officers and their families the breathing room they need to focus on healing, grieving, or rebuilding.
At the core of MOS Relief Project is a commitment to dignity, respect, and confidentiality. Every request for assistance is reviewed by our Board with care and discretion, and every case is considered on its own merits. We recognize that asking for help can be difficult, especially for those who are used to being the ones who respond to emergencies rather than the ones living through them.

That is why we strive to create an environment where officers and families feel safe reaching out, knowing they are speaking with people who understand and who are here to support, not judge.
Our work is made possible through the generosity of donors and supporters who share our belief in honoring and caring for the law enforcement community. Every contribution, whether large or small, helps us extend a hand to someone in crisis and reminds them that their service is valued, their sacrifice is seen, and they are not facing their hardship in isolation. As we grow, our vision remains simple and unwavering: to stand with members of service and their families when unforeseen problems arise, offering practical help and a message of solidarity during life’s most challenging moments.
